Spurgeon prayed for men (and women) with “grit!” God give us such men, who
when they know a thing to be right, will not bend or bow to a lesser thing no
matter what the world or the Devil may offer. God give us men of principle not
pragmatism, who will persevere all the more because there are difficulties and
dangers to be faced. Give us men like Daniel who wouldn't give in to the
pressures of the potentate or his peers. Give us men who will “set their face
like a flint,” to do right!
My prayer for you today is for the
courage to make a difference for God and for good, no matter what the cost.
Proverbs 14:26 In

While driving in Pennsylvania, a family
caught up to an Amish carriage. The owner of the carriage obviously had a sense
of humor, because attached to the back of the carriage was a hand printed
sign.... "Energy efficient vehicle: Runs on oats and grass. Caution: Do
not step in exhaust."
