5.31.18 – Vance
Havner said a lot of people sing, “Oh, How I Love Jesus,” who are not
keeping His commandments! We love to meditate on His promises while giving
short shift to His practices. Jesus said His purpose was to do “His Father’s
will.” We cannot separate love for Christ and keeping His word. It’s like the
law of the Medes and the Persians, “It altereth not!” God help us to see this
truth clearly!
My prayer for you today is for a faith
that “follows” Jesus commands faithfully, fully and finally!
Revelation
22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to
the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. KJV
“A young boy went to his mother and said, "Mother, did
you say that we came from dust?" She replied, "Yes, son, God made us from the dust of the
earth and breathed into us the breath of life." The young boy then asked,
"Didn't you say that we would go back to dust when we die?" Her reply was, "Yes, that is right. We came
from dust and we will go back to dust." Very excited the young boy said,
"Mom, I want you to come and look behind the couch. There is someone
going or coming."
