5.10.18 – “Abraham was a man who walked with God
and is called “the friend of God” in Scripture; but he did not always walk a
straight line. He went to Ur of the Chaldees when God directed but he also went
to Egypt. Vance Havner said, “Layovers at Satan’s suggestion become layoffs and
we fail of our mission!” If we are to be about our Lord’s business there must
be care not to be “lingering when we should be laboring as in David’s case!”

My prayer for you today is that you would

“A man who had just undergone a very
complicated operation kept complaining about a bump on his head and a terrible
headache. Since his operation had been an intestinal one, there was no earthly
reason why he should be complaining of a headache. Finally his nurse, fearing
that the man might be suffering from some post-operative shock, spoke to the
doctor about it. The doctor assured the nurse, "Don't worry about a thing.
He really does have a bump on his head. About halfway through the operation we
ran out of anesthetic."
