5.16.18 – “We hear much about being in God’s
“favor” today, so that you may be on the receiving end of His blessings.
Usually this “favor” is associated with sending an offering (sowing seeds of
faith) to a particular ministry. Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to
receive,” so why is there this focus on what we can receive from God? God sends
rain on the just and the unjust. It’s more about His sovereign will than
“favor!” Much of today’s “favor” theology borders on superstition.” Vance Havner
My prayer for you today is that you would
seek the real flavor (salty), of the Lord, not the right favor of the Lord!

Police Business!
“A rookie police officer was assigned to
ride in a cruiser with an experienced partner. A call came over the car's radio
telling them to disperse some people who were loitering. The officers drove to
the street and observed a small crowd standing on a corner. The rookie rolled
down his window and said, "Let's get off the corner." No one moved,
so he barked again, "Let's get off the corner!" Intimidated, the
group of people began to leave, casting puzzled glances in his direction. Proud
of his first official act, the young policeman turned to his partner and asked,
"Well, how did I do?" "Pretty good," replied the veteran,
"especially since this was a bus stop."
