3.30.18 – “Fretting” is forbidden in the
Scriptures but just exactly what does this mean? To fret is to worry about the
little things in life; it’s to worry about “the little foxes that spoil the
grapes.” Most of us can stand big troubles far better than the small annoyances
of life. It’s the small distractions that bring wear and tear and it may be
nobler to overcome these little aggravations gracefully than the large
problems. Vance Havner
My prayer for you today is for you
conquer the cares that would curb your contentment!
Matthew
6:25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought
for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your
body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than
raiment? KJV
“I’ve heard
about a little six-year old boy who restlessly struggled to listen to a rather
lengthy sermon. After the service, the little boy asked the question that
sooner or later most "church kids" ask. "Dad" he said,
"what does the preacher do the rest of the week?" The dad replied,
"Son, he’s a very busy man. He takes care of church business, visits the
sick, studies the Bible. . . and he has to take time to rest up. You see,
preaching in public is not an easy job." The little boy thought about that
and said, "Well, listening ain’t so easy either!" ChristiansUnite.Com
